Take A Hike An Outdoor Coloring Adventure was pretty much taken over by my husband. He’s never been the type to want to sit down and color, but this book changed that completely. He’s an outdoors type of guy so he loved the entire theme of this book. I did manage to take a couple pages for myself and I had a blast coloring them. The pages on this book are not perforated which would be very helpful, but still a great book.
In the camping image I included, Santa is camping out by the lake enjoying himself. Yes, he has colorful thermals and boxers under his suit…who knew? Well, at least in MY rendition of this picture he does) . I used a mix of marker and crayon, and this picture was also stolen by my daughter who loves the idea of Santa going camping.
The mushroom picture I could’ve colored in traditional colors, but what fun would that have been? I used neon gel pens that glow under a black light for a fun looking effect. The picture doesn’t capture the glow very well, it looks MUCH more impressive in person.

Great book! Very interesting drawings to color, much better than what you see in the sample pics.
I live in the desert so I like it when it takes me to somewhere green and alive.
Take a Hike is a fun coloring book. The different outdoor scenes give me an opportunity to use many colors on each page, which is how I like to color. The pictures are nice to share with children, as there are plenty of pieces simple enough for kids to not lose patience, but detailed enough to be interesting to adults at the same time.
I get these coloring books for free in exchange for my review and I am so lucky I get to because Blue Star has the biggest variety of coloring books I've ever seen. I love to color but I really only do when the pictures are interesting and compel me to add color to them. This book definitely inspires me to get my pencils.
